When it comes to choosing your dog's main food, look for a label that says it's "formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO or FEDIAF Dog Nutrient Profiles." For puppies, make sure it's labelled as suitable for growth.

This nutritional adequacy statement means the product provides a complete and balanced diet. Most of our Stockman & Paddock range, including our dry and wet food ranges, falls into this category.

Transitioning or introducing your dog to new food, food type or flavour? Follow these tips for a happy and healthy adjustment:

1. Gradual Introduction: Take a week or more to introduce new foods slowly, especially if your dog has a sensitive stomach or is known to be reluctant to accept new foods. Begin with 25%, then 50%, 75%, and finally 100% of the new food.
2. Change One Thing at a Time: Introduce only one new food at a time to monitor your dog’s response. This helps identify any specific food that your dog may not enjoy or tolerate.
3. Slowly Introduce Mixed Feeding: If adding wet food to your dog’s dry diet, do it gradually. Mix a small amount into dry food, increasing over seven days. Use feeding guides to balance amounts to ensure you don’t over feed.
4. Variety is Exciting: Offering a mix of foods to keep mealtimes interesting. Our Stockman & Paddock wet foods can be standalone or mixed with our Stockman & Paddock dry food.
5. Monitor Your dog: Watch your dog’s activity, behaviour, and stools. If they show signs of a digestive upset contact your vet, and never allow your dog to go for more than a day without food.

Remember some dogs may need a slower transition than others so make sure you adjust your approach based on your dogs’ individual response and needs.
